Can your sexual orientation change?

Question

Let's say you're a typical kid. Currently straight, in highschool, interested in girls and all that junk. CAN you become a homosexual throughout your life? Many people tell me that your orientation is not determined until later on your life maybe around 17-20. I've also heard that your sexual orientation is genetic which means it's determined once you're born.

So what do you guys think?

Sexual orientation is very complex, and what we think of as "sexual orientation" is actually a combination of a massive number of factors.  Some factors are coded into the genes when people are conceived.  Some factors are set in the womb when people start to develop.  Some factors are determined during puberty when the person's body and hormones undergo a lot of changes.  Some factors aren't present until rather late in life and are completely environmental.

i do think u can change orientation. my teacher once said that its dtrermined by ur parents which iu can believe if u want but i dont but

Sexual orientation is determined when you are conceived. But can become distorted as you grow up. Negative sexual experiences, family problems, and a lack of hometraining can distort sexual orientation. It has nothing to do with genetics. That's just a cop out for some people to feel comfortable about what they're doing!

Sexual orientation is hard wired, but most people believe there are only 2 choices - male or female.

That's not true.

It's a continuum all the way from "girly-girl" hetero to hard core L*****n in women and from satyr to hard core g*y in men.

There are 6 categories of lesbianism, for example, all the way from occasional experimentation to hard core.

Infinite possibilities.

I don't think it can change, but your acceptance of who you are, and therefore what you will do can change.
