  1. Well go see your optometrist for a start if you haven't.

You have what i have:  I am short sighted so I can't see far away.

I have been wearing glasses since grade 3 (I am in grade 9) and I started contacts last year.

The answer is: Yes.  Glasses/contacts are just aids to help you.  They don't actually make your vision better. Your muscles in your eyes get used to the glasses/contacts and therefore start functioning less and less. This is the reason why people keep getting higher powered glasses/contacts!

I use a new type of hard contact lens that you put in your eyes at night and then go to bed.  When you sleep they change the shape of the cornea (lens) so that when you take them out you can see!  They stop your eyes from adjusting to much to the contact.

Try them if you hate the feeling of contacts/glasses if you have them

    Hope this helps!

    George

  2. Oh, yes.  Hard lenses prevent that, and Lasik surgery also prevents it. But once you turn 40-ish,  you'll start needing reading glasses.  Lasik can fix that too.

For now, you need glasses, contacts, or Lasik.  Soft lenses are great unless your eyes are dry.

Bless you and good luck! :)

  3. I f you are not wearing your glasses or contacts it will get worse. What the glasses do is that it gets everything centered so that you can see better and if you don't use the glasses then the eyes are going to keep on being uncentered which is the cause of not seeing right. What happens in your case is that you are nearsighted.

  4. Mine capped off in my college years. And now I'm legally blind (severely myopic), although I can see only with visual aids (glasses/ contacts) but it has not gotten worse at all.
