I love horses with long hair, but I love zebras even more! I've only seen them with mohawk things, but I'm wondering if they can have longish hair xD

  1. No they cant. But a hybreed between a horse and a zebra, a zorse can have long mane. Check out this site:

  2. I know! My pony is half andalusian and I've been trying to grow her mane out forever! It finally got to be about a foot long this summer and she went and rubbed it out. I just about cried as I roached her mane down to an even length. Now she looks like a little war pony! lol!

As for a zebra, The mane does not grow very long and always stands up. I have this crazy theory that it might make the animal look bigger and more muscular because the stripes continue in the mane.

As for the hybrid zorse, I found a picture below with a longer flat laying mane. And as for the breed standard:

The mane may stand up like the zebra, or, more often, fall over like the horse. The mane generally does not become long.
