Canada Geese?!??

Question

Is it legal to have them domesticated, if you started with them as eggs?

I don't really know how to ask this.... sorry.

I just love Canada Geese, and I'd love to have some of my own one day!

my neighbor always brings home dead ones...but I think that he hunts them

I heard they are actually protected here in the states...but I just heard that so I don't know how much truth is behind it.
