Canada Recycling Letter?

Hey. :) So, I need to write a letter to Stephen Harper telling him why I think Canadians should recycle. So far, I have the introductary paragraph, and a paragraph about landfills. What are some other topics I could use ? I did a rough draft, and it sounded a lot like an opinion letter type of thing, and I don't want that, so help? Thanks!

  1. I read somewhere that it takes more energy and pollutants to make new plastic bags than it does to recycle the old ones, especially since they are petroleum based.  Come to find out that most items that are recyclable cost less and use less energy to recycle them than it does to make new ones.  We are running out of space on this earth so much so that our grandchildren will most likely be living on top of an old landfill!

We need trees to live!  CO2 and O2 ring a bell?  By recycling paper we are saving money, saving trees, and saving energy.  Everything from using gas to transport to the processing plants!

  2. Toronto is recycling their trash into Michigan, 400 trucks a day, thanks, you can have this Governor back also.

  3. There are several items to address:
