  1. I just did it yesterday from the US into Canada at the Rainbow Bridge...

Pulled up to the border checkpoint...

The immigration/customs agent checked our passports, asked where we were going, how long we planned to stay, purpose of our visit, items we were bringing in other than clothes, and we were done in less than a minute.

    Good luck!

  2. Driver's licence and proof of citizenship is required. (or a passport if you have it will cover both).  They are pretty good at the rainbow bridge, they check closely but don't scrutanize.  They'll ask things like citizenship? purpose of visit? how long you staying? etc.

no background checks are run. they dont have time to do that
