v = Voyageur = A voyageur was an adventurer who traveled by canoe from Montreal to the interior of Canada to trade for furs with the Natives. By the end of the 17th century, the name was given to selected  'couriers des bois' hired by Montreal businessmen to arrange and keep the trading active with the Native tribes.

q = Quahog = Northern quahogs are found along most of the East Coast and are also known as a hard shell, steamer, or cherrystone clam. 'Quahog' comes from the Algonquin Indian language as the natives used the shells for ornaments and wampum or money.

k = Komatik = A Komatik is a type of dog sled used by Canada's northern natives, the Inuit, to travel in winter. It is normally a sled pulled by a team of dogs, mainly huskies.
