Question:

Canada career?

by  |  earlier

0 LIKES UnLike

I want to get a degree in law in the UK. I also want to move to Canada when possible after university. Will a degree/profession in law help me get a job/citizenship in Canada?

Or are there any other professions that would help me in being able to move to Canada in the future?

I was also thinking of a career in clinical psychology. Would this be any better?

Are there any shortages of workers in any profession in Canada?

Any advise on careers and moving to Canada from the UK would be appreciated.

  1. Well, it's nice to work in Canada. Because you can have lots of money and also the people there are nice but not all.

  2. Generally in Canada being admitted to the bar is a provincial responsibility so the rules vary a bit from province to province, and most provinces require a Canadian law degree.  Without a Canadian law degree credentials are evaluated on a case by case basis.  You couild be required to do additional work.

We have shortages in many technical fields, in nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, in medical areas generally, speech language pathology, sometimes in university teaching.

Scrutinize the Canadian immigration site.  It is your best source of information.  Best of luck with your plans.

  3. Yes our medical field is really sad right now, they all move to the USA for the most part. There is a lot of demand. As to your degree being recognized in Canada, don't assume it will be. I would investigate, even find a compatable school and maybe do your last semester at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia or something. It's one of the best medical schools we have. That would at least give you an international degree here. Just an idea.
