I need your suggestion please. I have applied for PR for skilled worker from USA. I went through all the paperwork (FBI clearance, medical exam performed on Dec 2006, Quebec certifate of selection expiring 4/24/2009). my file have been sitting in buffalo since sept 2006. I thought it will take 2 months after the medical exam to get the PR. I am still waiting. also, I had to go back home. shall I keep my file for canada in USA or do I have to change it with CIC to my home country? please help. I don't want to start the process again

  1. skilled worker from Buffalo takes about 7 months, not 2 months.  But 2 years ago Buffalo were taking 2 years to process. You need to stay in USA. You need to stay legal.

If you do go home, you may be called back to USA for an interview, so you need to be able to get to USA to the interview on your own expense.

CIC do not normally move files to new locations - especially between countries. And you filed for Quebec. Which does not help matters.

I strongly suggest you stay in USA until processing has finished, or you will need to start all over again.
