  1. The Ocean current in the west is flowing north bringing up the warm water from the south. It also has the Rockies that shields it from the cold from central Canada. The ocean on the east coast is flowing south and is bringing the cold water down from the north. That's why the east coast is the place to see icebergs.

  2. Because Vancouver is on the coast- normally the coast is warmer in the winter months, and cool in the summer months. Hope that helps

  3. It's the West Coast. Same reason California is warm and NY or other east-coast areas are colder.

In the Summer most of Canada is HOT. It's just winter...

  4. Also it is protected from Arctic blasts by high mountains to the East and Vancouver Island to its West.

  5. The winds are coming from the direction of Hawaii and are called the" pineapple express" as well as warm  water currants .

Being on the coast has nothing to do with it--just ask someone from Newfoundland

  6. vancouver is protected by mountains in the north and there's water around the city to keep it cool
