Canada trail by 272 runs with 6 wickets remaining in the 1st innings
On the first day of the match between Canada and Afghanistan in the ICC Intercontinental Cup, 2011-2013, Afghanistan scored 293 runs in their first innings while Canada trailed by 272 runs with six wickets in hand at stumps.
After winning the toss in the four-day match, Canada chose to field first to give the opposition a chance to bat at Maple Leaf North-West Ground, King City.
Afghanistan had a bumpy start to their innings as both openers failed to give a substantial performance against the Canadian bowling onslaught. The openers looked rusty and failed to play strokes even on bad deliveries.
