Canadian Immigration..?

i am currently waiting for my landed immigrancy to be accepted. I came to Canada with my parents, but my partner is not in with the immigration process.

He is currently wanting to get a work visa or some sort of temporary residency, as we have a child together who is 3months old. He does not want to miss out on our daughters life! She by the way was born in Canada so is a canadian citiizen if that makes a difference.

We have asked for help and advice from immigration services and they are not helping! every person we speak to is saying something totally different than every other person. is there anything that would help him get a work visa? does the fact of having a Canadian citizen child help him at all?

Plus we sent an Labour Market Opinion off from an employee who was desperate for employees and now 3 months on they are saying it was never received. It has been a serious frustration with these guys!!!

we are not married either

  1. You have to realize that you are just a number to "these people" and you have to wait in line.

Until you get some kind of status in Canada for yourself then you cannot help your boyfriend.  After you get status then you can sponsor him as your conjugal partner (must prove why you have had to live separately) common law partner (must be living together for 12 months) or spouse.  If you are to sponsor him you must meet the financial requirements and agree to sponsor him for 5 years upon his entrance to Canada---even if you guys split.

Having a baby will not help or speed up your case.  This I know from experience.  I had a child in Canada with my Canadian husband and was then denied entrance.

If your bf wants fast entrance to Canada then he can continue with the work visa or ask for a visit visa (also called temporary residence).  The visit visa will allow him legal entrance into Canada for 180 days.  He cannot work with a visit visa but it will get him in quick

Nothing else is quick.  Your looking at months and even years.  I know it is frustrating.  I had to live separate from my husband for almost 4 years after we were married and had a child.

  2. No, it doesn't help a lot to have a Canadian baby.  It helps to have Canadian parents or adult children because they can agree to support you, but babies don't count for much.

Was the employer a serious employer?  Like someone with a 100+ employees who has the staff to push the application through?  If it was just a small business person, it will be on the bottom of the pile and it will take time to work its way  up.

You have to realize "these guys" have almost a million people wanting their action.  They don't care if you are frustrated, everyone they deal with is frustrated.  Run arounds are routine and they have been for years and years.   I suspect that they will continue to be.

  3. having a canadian baby will not help in getting a work visa......

seems like the easiest option is to wait to get your own residency, get married, and then sponsor him to stay as your husband.
