Canadian Masters: Ian Assing overpowers Jean David Moore in Men’s Singles first round
Canada’s Ian Assing started his campaign in an impressive fashion when he toppled Jean David Moore in Men’s Singles first round at 2012 Yonex Canadian Masters Badminton Championships in Canada, on Monday, May 7.
Assing started his campaign in the tournament in a dominating manner as he played with confidence and managed to win the opening set in a tremendous fashion.
The in-form Assing was outstanding in his shot selection and execution as he did not miss any chance to earn points and finished the match in straight sets.
On the other hand, Jean David played good badminton but not enough to dictate the pace at crucial points and lost the contest in straight games with a decent score on the board.
In the first set, both men played with impressive precision as they did not let each other to take advantage in the game.
They progressed while remaining toe-to-toe in the game until the one-minute break in the first set.
After the break, Assing changed his strategy and started to dominate the pace of rallies. He worked well at net and also pushed his opponent on the back corners of the court.
His tactics worked well and remained successful in winning the opening set with a 21-16 margin on the board.
In the second game, Jean David proved his impressive skills in the opening half of second set as he matched the speed of Assing and remained toe-to-toe in the opening stage.
They played with precision and executed safe shots to avoid unforced errors. Until the mid-game interval in the second game, no one could set up an impressive lead on the board.
After the interval, they continued pushing each other in all areas while taking the bird early from all areas of the court.
The score reached at the ending points of second game when Assing played a few impressive shots in right areas and managed to take the game with a narrow margin of 21-19.
