I'm looking for a place in the Canadian wilderness where i can be dropped off in complete solitude and go camping for a bit. I don't want to stay in a lodge or cabin i just want to pitch a tent somewhere and enjoy the evergreens. If anyone knows anywhere i can get some information, please let me know.

  1. If you want to canoe most of it, you should try some parts of the Temagami area.

  2. You're looking in the right place; Canada abounds with wilderness sites. Banff, British Colombia is my personal favorite.

I'm not exactly sure how remote you're speaking of but this site should give you a start:

Make sure you take your deet/netting - its getting to that time of year when the black flies are terrible.

    Have a great time.

  3. Waterton park in SE Alberta has some of the best backcountry camping in the world, without the hustle/bustle of places like Banff.  Try this link.

  4. Don't short change yourself man, go for the high mountain scenery, not just a spot in the woods. There's just no comparison to hiking in, camping near, and waking up to majestic views of mountains, waterfalls, lakes, and streams.
