Hi I''m 16 years old and I want to try out for my high school's football team.

I live in canada so.. Can anyone give me a link to a guide about Canadian football?

I've never played it before, but I'm a fast learner.

Maybe a guide with diagrams or something?

Help I'm desperate.

  1. I played in the US in high school. Honestly, when I showed up at practice my junior year I didn't know much. Unless you are trying out for the best team in the Province, the coaches will teach you everything you need to know (at least good coaches will). Type "Canadian Football" into wikipedia for basics and then just show up at practice ready to work hard.

  2. It's football played by Canadians.. how hard can it be?

  3. there;s nothing to learn.  All you have to do is be able to pass the physical.  That means, you have to be able to run so fast, and be able to absorb hits to your body.  Your body developes muscels, and the muscels takes the impact of the hits, so you dont feel much pain.

You learn all this in school, in your fiz-ed class.

When you feel you are fit enogh to play football, the coach of the team will train you more before you put on the equipment.

  4. Just show up and work hard, you will catch on.

  5. The game is football, do you think we play it in snowshoes or something up here. The only differences between the two games are the size of the field (110 yds X 65) yds as opposed to 100 x50. three  downs to get 10 yards instead of 4 and 12 players on the field instead of 11. Other than that, its just football.

  6. dude, you're a Canadian!! your bound to learn it fine. :) we all do! but here is a page to help you if you need it.

i'd also recommend to play a football video game like Madden 08 or something just so you get the basics.

Hope this helps, and good luck!!! hope u make the team!

try watching a football game on TSN, it's the CFL so it won't be quite the same but it'll give you pointers.

    Go Saskatchewan Roughriders!!! 6-1!!!!!
