The gas tank holds 60L. The distance the SUV drives is d kilometres. At the start of a journey, the tank is full. The volume of fuel , F litres, is a function of d.

The fuel consumption for this vehicle on the highway is 10L/100km.

The equation : V = 60 - 0.10d

a) What volume of fuel does the car use to travel 350km?

b) How far has the vehicle travelled when only 5L of fuel remain?

c) The car is travelling on a highway with a gas station every 200km. How many gas stations has the car passed before it must stop to fill up?

d) Solve the equation for c. Suppose the driver forgets to check the gas consumption and runs out of gas. How far has the car travelled?
