Canadian motorcycle laws?

im 16 and im just about to move to canada, i plan on getting a motorbike when i get there and im not sure about their licence laws, i know they have a system thats G1 and G2 etc... but does anyone know things like how old i have to be to get my first licence and what bikes i can ride on my first licence, i've googled this but didnt get any results that answer my question

  1. exactly, another saskatchewan boy here.... it's either a 6 or an m here

    6 is your learners, M is your full license.... pretty straight forward

    ontario may well be different, they sure are different with many other things ;)


  2. It depends completely what province you are moving to. I live in Saskatchewan and there are no levels other than learners and drivers here. You can simply write your learners and ride immediately with some restrictions. Then when you are comfortable you can go for your riding test and get your licence. You don't need to take a motorcycle safety course here yet. It is not the same in all provinces though. Try checking each province's motor vehicle dept. websites.
