  1. I know Banff has a rugby club:

But the season typically runs opposite to the ski season.  Rugby from May-September, ski from October-March or early April!  But if you were going to spend a year, you could work on any mountain in the rockies for the winter, then go to Banff for the summer, pick up a job in one of the restaurants or hotels, and be able to join rugby.... lots of Aussies in Banff National Park, too... tons of fun!

If you want to stay in the same place for the whole year, then take a look at Sunshine Village, the ski mountain in Banff, for work.  Otherwise, Lake Louise (Mount Whitehorn) is a great place to work in the winter, only about a 40 minute drive from the town of Banff.

Make sure you visit Moraine Lake (15 minutes outside of Lake Louise) in the summer time, it is by far the most stunning scenery you will find in the Canadian Rockies.

    Hope this helps  :D
