I'm from Australia and have applied through CCUSA, my interview will be coming up soon.

I haven't had experience with kids but I would love to get some, I love doing things with kids. Will this affect if I get the job or not?

Also at the interview they said I can say which area I'd prefer to go to, I'm not sure, was thinking maybe Quebec?

I'm so excited!!! I've been to Florida but thats it for the whole of the Americas!

  1. I live in Ontario(a diverse, beautiful province with lots of culture, scenery and hot weather in the spring/summer months(typically about late May to late September; 30 degree days can be found throughout these months, if we get some nice heatwaves and 20 degree days are fairly standard).  However, I would probably recommend British Columbia to the first time visitor.  Soaring mountains, lush valleys, ocean activities and prime day-trips abound.  Rain may be the only true downfall to your trip; weeks of rain everyday throughout is a real possibility.  If you decide on Quebec, brush up on your french as you may end up in cities where this language is almost exclusively spoken.  The scenery is beautiful and unique, as it is in every province that you could choose from.  You will find the people and places that you encounter far more  satisfying than those of Florida.  Bring fly/mosquito repellant wherever you end up.  As the second largest land mass in the world,  you would obviously do well to further investigate your destination-try a Tourism Canada website to aid you in your search.  Camps throughout Canada welcome people looking for the opportunity to work with children; expect a background search of yourself and the possibility that you may not get the job at the destination of your first choice(for example, Banff or Lake Louise in the province of Alberta may likely have a lenghty waiting list, as would Haliburton in the province of Ontario,  etc...)  Have a backup plan.  Good luck and enjoy Canada as much as we would if we were visiting Australia for the first time.

  2. I'd like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it's hard to understand why people don't stay home.

Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere - anywhere but home.
