what time of the month do these checks normally get sent out? or when can I expect to receive them.

These amounts are normally sent out around the 20th of each month, unless the 20th falls on a weekend or a public holiday, in which case it is sent out the day before. In July, the cheques were dated the 18th.

If you have just applied for benefits for a new child or a child who is coming into your care, you become eligible the month after the child starts to live with you, or is born, whichever applies. You must complete and submit a copy of form RC66 in order to apply for the benefits.
