Canadians buying cars in the US?

I live close to the US-Canada border. Can anyone tell me why I wouldn't want to purchase a new vehicle in the US instead of Canada. In fact, while the currency situation is where it is, why would anyone want to voluntarily pay the inflated price, crippling taxes and fees on a new car in Canada ever? Please help.

Warranty work. Last I heard, certain manufactuers honor warranties on both sides of the border ( GM I have been told). Nissan and Dodge, say they have Nissan USA & Nissan Canada, Nissan Canada supposedly will not honor a car bought in the US and vice versa.

Lots of Canadian snow birds in Florida and have heard stories that warranty is honored and stories that they are not. It doesn't matter to me ;) , long as you have a Florida address I can sell you a car, but if I was Canadian, I would certainly call a Canadian dealer and find out for myself, as it would be rough if your tranny blew up at 25,000 and you find out you don;t have a warranty in Canada, or someone that doesn;t live close to the border, than they would have to spend $$$ to get the car hauled to a US dealer for warranty work.

You would still have to pay the taxes to register it in Canada.
