I am writing a short story in which three characters of different nationalities meet during a hike in the mountains.

One is a Candian from Toronto, and her ocupation is something in the tourism industry.

Could you tell me a list of potential jobs in Toronto that fit this criterium?

I'm not just interested in jobs. I'm also and mainly interested in workplaces.

  1. She can work at the Mountain Equipment CoOp. An outdoor Store in the Downtown of Toronto...very trendy...highly populated

Summer Camp Counselor, lots of summer recreation jobs in Ontario, check out Toronto Day Camps.

Webbers Restaurant, Popular Summer Cottage Restaurant.

    A theater hand.

A waiter in the CN Tower

  2. A Torontonian who meets characters of different nationalities is as common as blinking your eyes, its as common as breathing.  Majority of people in Toronto were born somewhere else, or first generation of someone born somewhere else, plus even the multi-generation Canadians in Toronto regularly meet with, live amongst, work with, serve and get served by people of different nationalities.

If you want to keep it real, don't make the Torontonian seem astonished by some "different nationality".

For a job for that Toronto character, you could pick something like pilot or flight attendant, because Toronto has the busiest airport in Canada and they get around anyways;    or  eco-tour planner, since people from the big city would love to hike in the mountains, since we have hills and valleys, but the Toronto area doesn't have mountains, and the eco-tour planner needs to find interesting and beautiful trails, or take pictures for the brochure or webpage.

  3. A Park Warden is a very common job up here in Ontario.  They basically tour the parks and keep campers in line and watch for bears.  They also keep an eye on the health of the forest and the lakes in their region.  If a tree dies or gets blown down, they go with the chain saws and cut it up and then the park sells the wood to the campers for fire wood.  They are the park police. LOL.  Other tourism here are boat cruises.  Every lake it seems has it own passenger cruise boat.  The cruises have to scheduled and the meals, if any, have to be catered by someone.  Alot of people come here just to see the lakes.  There is nothing like it.

  4. Hotel manager

    Sales clerk

    Receptionist

    Pizza delivery guy (lol)

  5. She could give Toronto tours on the hippo.  It is a bus/boat that drives around the city then does a water tour.

  6. sorry im not from canada

  7. Castle Loma tour guide

Royal Ontario museum, curator, tour guide

Art gallery of Ontario, same as above

  8. Yo, that harbor hopper thing is siiik. She could be that, or a CN Tower guide, or a dope slinger that waits outside the clubs down on Richmond until close and smokes people comin out of the club....

  9. She could be a Manager at Sheraton Downtown. [Sheraton]

She could work at the CN Tower. [CN Tower]

She might be a city events coordinator. [City of Toronto]

    Just some ideas.

  10. canoe sales person, and some kind of guide :)

  11. Here's an answer you might be able to use:  A Communications Director
