Canadians - how do you feel about the new Maple Leaf Foods commercial?

Canadians - or anyone else that has seen the commercial. What do you think and feel about the Corporate President going on TV in a commercial to minimize damage after the listeriosis outbreak.

I think that it may not have been an attempt to minimize the damage. I think that it was a genuine apology. Because... right away a spokeswoman apologized on tv. I think most companies hide until they are forced to do damage control, but Maple Leaf foods did the right thing by admitting and apologizing instead of hiding it. This is rare in this world.

However, why does this happen?! This is not the first time human food or pet food had to be recalled. Governments need to stop spending trillions of dollars on weapons and armies that kill and start spending money for good things, things that protect people, like stiffer regulations and more inspections and inspectors in food plants. It's ridiculous. With the amount of nuclear weapons the U.S. and other countries keep stockpiling, it can already blow up all the people on the earth many times over. This is not going to stop until God steps in!  This whole world is so utterly corrupt!

What a sad situation.

Well Listeria can be found in many places...even in your own fridge.

The truth is these types of things can happen anywhere...anytime.  Look at the e-coli on vegetables?

All it took was extra-torrential rains to wash all that cow p**p into well water or fields or whatever and there you go...that is just as serious if not more so.

The truth is you are taking a chance with whatever you eat at any point in time.  You just never know when your number is up.

No doubt the Maple Leaf people will have their plant ****-n-span clean by the time this is over and be extra safe so I'm not worried about it.  I'd rather eat local than eat more stuff imported from the States or elsewhere.
