Question:

Canary and its bath!?

i bought my canary about two or three months ago and i read that you should give it a small bowl of water to bath its-self in once a week but when i put this water in all it does is fly away from it!

why?

  1. Time and it will bathe.  I pour the water so the canary can see and hear it.  This triggers the want to bathe.  You do not need anything special - it's water cup will do. Mine use theirs for bath.


  2. It's scared of it! Some caged birds love water, others stay away from it. I used to use the bath you clip on the doorway, the ones that are enclosed on all sides. I had one budgie that loved it, and one that didn't, so I used to put things in there to tempt him in to it, like a seed pot, or one of his toys. He got used to it in the end, though he never went crazy for it.

  3. Go to the pet store and buy a little clip on clear plastic bird bath, it hooks on at the door of the cage,just keep putting it there, eventually the bird will use it, it must feel safe.

  4. Its scared of it....Just leave em' alone he/she will learn to use it

  5. get a water spray,my bird loves it
