so when i woke up today my canary was sitting at the bottom of his cage. he had his head tucked into his feathers.

my sister picked him up and tried to put him on his perch, but he then fell into the water dish and afterwards started shaking and died =/

does anyone have an idea of what the cause of death might be?

  1. well it might have been to cold and died of amonia

  2. Hello!

Canaries are susceptible to cold. Was your bird kept outside?

    Was he/she kept inside?

If the canary was exposed to a draft of cold air, it could have been that it caught a chill and died. Canaries also get respiratory problems easily.

He obviously wasn't well as he was sitting on the bottom of his cage, fluffed up with his head tucked under his wing- an obvious sign he was not well.

It could be SO many things that could have contributed to it's demise, and I'm sorry you lost your pet. :(

The only real way to find out what your canary died from is to take it to the vet for tests, but that costs money.

    Sorry again, and good luck..
