Cancel account at ancestry.com, help please?

I wanted to get a free trial account at ancestry.com but then it asked me for address and other info so i clicked it off but it says i am still a registered guest. I have no use for this website.

It says they do not cancel registered guest accounts. Is a registered guest account different from a free trial account? Will they try and charge me for if i just stop using the it? The only info i put in is my email address.

  1. Registered guest accounts are different than trial memberships. If you never gave them a cc# then you're not a member and there's nothing to cancel. If yo're worried, though, contact your cc company and let them know that you canceled during the trial period and don't authorize any payments to Ancestry.

  2. IT doesn't matter if you are a register guest or not.

They don't charge you.  I am a genealogist.

You can get the free trial by filling out all the info and giving them your cc # and they if will tell you when it expires, as long as you cancel online before that day, they don't charge , I have done it several times.

If you want to access it for free, then I suggest going to your local public library, you can access it for free there and have access to all the information that is locked for a guest account.
