Question:

Canceling Cell Phone Plan?

I am looking to cancel my cell phone account after my contract has ended.

I was wondering if after i cancel my account, will i still be receiving calls? If so is there a way to stop it?

I have t-mobile and asked a person online about the situation and they had told me that if don't cancel i will be charged on a monthly basis. Will the price still remain the same as it is when i was under contract?

Information:

I have t-mobile

Currently on a family plan

All phones on the plan have sim cards (is the sim card what allows you to make calls? if not, what allows the phone to tell t-mobile your making a call?)

Sorry about all the questions, but i really want to have a good understanding on the situation

  1. If you call tmobile and cancel your account, they will turn off your phone and you will no longer receive calls. When someone calls your number they will receive the "this number is no longer in service" message.

What the person on line was probably telling you about letting your contract ride out, in other words your contract would automatically "renew" itself and you would still be paying your monthly bill. But you can still cancel after your contract has expired after the 2 years.

The sim card is just a storage apparatus that identifies the user of the phone, it has account info and your addresses and contact information on it. It plays a part in allowing your phone to make calls in combination with the internal transmitter.

    Hope this helps.
