  1. You need to check with your travel insurance to see if they will cover the cost of making your own arrangements.  The airline will see their obligation to you as fulfilled by offering an alternative plus payment, more so as you actually received a call.  It happens a lot today with all budget airlines and also cheap seats on established airlines, it is in the T&C of carriage.  Remember you are always eligible for a full refund of your taxes for any flight you do not take, you will need to contact the airline to start this process or the agent if the flights were booked through a third party.  Sorry its probably not what you wanted to hear.  Best of luck.

  2. This is BMIBABY's terms and conditions relating to cancelations

  3. If you paid your transpo fare using a credit card verify with your credit card company if you are covered by the built in travel insurance and if the additional expenses you incurred due to delayed flight will be covered. You can also check if the original fare you paid covered any kind of insurance specially for delayed flight. Cheers!

  4. Suggest you contact BMI Baby formally in writing with proof of how much extra expense you had to pay because of the cancellation. Hopefully as a good will gesture they will give you your money back, if this doesn't work contact your solicitor or one of the airlines governing bodies.

  5. Firstly, did you tell BMI this was unacceptable to you and that you wanted them to offer you something more reasonable?

Did you end up flying back with BMIbaby or another carrier??

    Why was the flight cancelled?

Read their website: 9.2 to 9.2.4

    http://www.bmibaby.com/bmibaby/en/index....

Google: "law of cancelled flights" and you will find some interesting articles about legal cases. I would read a few of those then contact the airline by phone and mail insisting on a full refund, at least.
