Having finished university i no longer need the internet, well not as much so am looking to cancel my bt broadband. Got the bill in today and it states payment of £46 for 1st july to 30th Sept. I had a one year contract but thats long over so im aware that legally I can cancel. But will they send me out another bill which will have a reduction or will I have to pay the 46 and the reduction will be made of the following bill.

Im so annoyed that they charge in advance, do all service providers do this or is it just bt?

thanks

  1. Phone BT and speak to someone in accounts about it, they can be very helpful.

  2. If you dare. Phone BT. But be prepared to talk to about 100 computes and no people

  3. They charge in advance because people use to set up accounts  from rented accommodation. Fleece the line for two months then leave without paying the bill. You would be amazed how many people commit fraud when it comes to renting phone lines.

  4. they shouldn't charge if you are not going to use it...

Call them and work through the Bill
