  1. £230 you hve to buy yourself out so you will have to pay the next 10 months x

  2. As you have signed an 18 month contract you have to pay the monthly line rental no matter what, I think you may be able to cancel it at around 15 months but that depends on the network.

  3. You will probably have to pay of the remainder of your contract so you would end up paying a lump sum of around £184. It might be better for you to simply adjust your contract so you can get a better mix of texts & phone calls. Or you could cut your contract down to bare minium & get yourself a pay as you go sim to use with your phone!

  4. My partner and I did this a couple of days ago, saving around £1,000 in doing so. To cut a long story short, we found out that 3 UK are going to increase the amount they are charging for non-direct debit customers to pay their bills, from £3 to £4 a month, plus they are going to charge £1 a month for paper bills. The only way to avoid the paper bill charge is to switch to an on-line e-billing system, and the only way to go onto an e-billing system is to go on direct debit.  They are also rounding up the pence per minute charge for calls, adding more money to customer's bills.

We argued that this left us at a disadvantage from when we originally signed our contracts, so we wanted to exercise our right to leave the company, and cancel our contracts, without financial penalty. We were told we couldn't do this, and were stuck with this, but we took it further.

We contacted the press office by email on Monday evening and the next morning my partner received a call from them yesterday (Tuesday) morning, telling him to expect a call from the CEO's office, the Chief Executive. He rang, and after much discussion, he agreed that the situation had been mishandled by the call centre staff and we were perfectly within our rights to leave, which we have done.

We have given 3 a month's notice (30 days), and after that, we are gone, with only the outstanding balance to pay. The rest of the contracts (around 10 month's worth) have been cancelled without us having to pay a penny in termination fees.

Needless to say we are thrilled to bits. I hope this knowledge helps someone who may wish to leave 3.

If you do this, 3 will ring you offering you another contract, with the same extra charges, but on a cheaper tariff.  It's your decision whether or not you take it, depending on your needs and requirements.

  5. TAWY WHAT IS IT YOU GET OUT OF GIVING OUT VIRUSES OR MALWARES???

  6. you cant cancel a phone contract

    i tried to cancel mine

if they let you probabaly have to pay the total amount all together it costs you a month so wont be worth it

  7. if you go to a high street outlet like car phone warehouse or phones 4 u they will give you the cash to pay off your contract at 12 months if you take out one with them.3 have another tarrif at £27 a month for 1100 mins or texts.

  8. Depending on the carrier, you might be able to upgrade your plan without penalty, but that also usually means you get a new contract, beginning with the date you upgrade.

In the States, there are regulations in place to limit or pro-rate the cancellation fee with time left on the contract, not sure how it would work across the pond. Check into companies who would buy up existing phone contracts (I believe a previous poster suggested someplace)- they may be better than just canceling and eating the cancellation fee.
