im a cancer and i find i am compatible with virgo's but i don't think it's most compatible sign. I find virgo's can be very critical at times and are major neat freaks.

Not even close. Virgos are bossy, and Cancer retreats when pushed around. Basically if your idea of compatibility is a totally one-sided relationship (with explosions when the Cancer has had enough), then this would be it. Cancers are much better off with other water signs or a Taurus. While the Virgo may offer Cancer the security it needs, most really don't have the understanding or patience for the Crab's many moods.

I'm not just saying this from the subject matter I've read either. My brother (Cancer) married a Virgo, and while he puts up a good face with her, he's very unhappy in the relationship. It's just not a good position for a Cancer to put themselves in. If the Virgo has a water moon though, there might just be a shot.

I disagree if you're talking romantic compatibility, however if you're talking friendship, Virgo and Cancer make a terrific match!  They can really help each other through the tough spots, solve problems sympathetically for each other, and point to the humor in life for comfrort.

Romantically speaking that probably wouldn't be the case, because most Cancers are pretty easily offended (they are extremely sensitive and when they feel hurt they tend to give the silent treatment, which just makes undemonstrative Virgo feel awkward for the most part), and a lot of Virgos can make a habit of saying things that can easily be taken badly, which drives Cancer insane with self-doubt... (most Virgos are very kind people though, they just can't help but be laser focused on everything that isn't quite right about anything---being detail oriented---and oftentimes point those things out in a desire to improve them).

If you combine a Cancer who's a little less thin-skinned than average, with a Virgo who's a little more easy going than average, it might be a great match.
