Im going to cancun. Any advice?

Bring plenty of sunscreen and insect repellent with deet.

Bring small bills for tipping, bus fare and small purchases.

Use your ATM card for cash to pesos. You get a better rate. Just remember they disperse in pesos not dollars. They tend to disperse large bills, that's why I suggested you take some smaller bills with you.

Pack light, you don't need much in clothing, it's very warm and casual. It's 87 degrees right now but feels like 93.

Never get into a taxi without first agreeing upon a price. Be careful with the tequila. Be sure to smother yourself in a high factor and mozzie repellent before venturing outside. Personally I had a thoroughly wonderful stay in the Mayan Riviera. Have a look at Trip Advisor. I can personally recommend the wonderful historical ruins of Chichen Itza and Tulum, and the Hidden Worlds Cenotes Park. I would not recommend the Xcaret Park. Lovely people. Beautiful part of the globe. Wish I were going with you.

omg okk so when you arrive at the airport make sure you ignore all the mexicans there because they are just trying to sell you stuff and they are soo annoying lol. Don't drink water outside of a resort!!!!!! Eat a lot of yogurt before you go because it gives you all the nutrients for your stomach not to get sick!

Stay at a resort because everywhere else is really poor and gross! I recommend Iberostar Parisio Maya!

if u plan on being in the ocean..u have to buy "Green" sunblock to protect the reef..pesos are 10 to 1 american dollar..so dont get confused cuz they use the dollar sighn like we do..so when something says 30 pesos..they mean 3 dollars, not 30.00..dont expect any vendors to correct you..have fun..go across on the ferry to cozumel and spend a day..its beautiful.

ride the bus ....no taxi ..... the bus is 60 cents to any place....    don;t get a charter to snorkel----total rip-off.  go to isle mujeres by going to el embarcadero, the port, then take ferry to the island and rent a golf cart to go to castillo de garrafon to snorkel for 10 bucks a person....same water and reef as the garrafon park but the garrafon park costs 50 buck a person......also don;t pay full price for anything at a market..also tell every m**o who is trying to sell you a timeshare to f-off. everyone is trying to make a buck off you so even if they act like they are there to help, they will try to con you into paying money....
