I want to go but not if it will be constant rain! We get enough of that here in scotland! Ive paid a lot of money for the hol and can spend 2 weeks in the rain here for free, lol! 1. the hurrican did not hit cancun..it hit somewhere below there..i called my hotel and its fine they jsut got alot of rain but todya its sunny and warm just alittle windy..im actuallly going there tomorrow..go to cancunweathertoday.com ..they're accuate..

  2. As Christina said, its not the best moment to visit Cancun, tourists have been evacuated from the resorts because of the hurricane. And i don't think that by the 27th, the weather will get better, maybe you should try Mauritius, the weather is great there.

  3. A category 5 hurricane just struck it pretty hard and from the pictures I'm seeing it didn't hold up so well. It's going to rain for the next 3-5 days still from the hurricane -- not a good time to go visit it unless you want to help with the clean up!

  5. I don't think you should worry about the weather, but you'd better check whether your hotel is still there!

    Have a good one!

  6. The weather is hot and humid...bring loads of sun block. If it rains it is only for a short time and then sun again.

The hurricane that everyone is talking about...did not affect Cancun at all. I work in the hotel zone and live in downtown Cancun.

If you would like to contact me directly feel free.

  7. I just talked to one of my friends that live in Playa Del Carmen. (40 miles closer to where the Hurricane came in and everything is fine, they never even lost the electricity.

Don't worry about what these other people are saying they just watch the news. I live on the coast in Texas and I have been in some Hurricanes. Cancun only saw some light rain and some wind gust of 65 mph. Very very little damage in Cancun. Check out this live webcam shot of Playa Del Carmen, http://www.xamanhainfo.com/webcam2. I just looked at it about a hour ago and it looked like it always does. This is where I stay in Playa Del Carmen. The flowers are still on the bushes if you noticed.

Cancun always shows rain, it normally rains for about 30 minutes to an hour and that is it. I have never been in the area when the forecast did not show rain. It rarely rains, I have been in the Yucatan 5 times in two years. I will be going down on Sunday (26Th) for the week as well. This trip will be the 6Th in 2 years. It has only rained 1 evening and it was for about an hour in 5 weeks of staying in the area. Next time you may want to book a trip in April or May the weather is much nicer and the threat of Hurricanes do not exist. Hurricane season for the Caribbean is between June and November, with the later months being more active!

Check out some of the tours as well, you may even want to try a bit of scuba diving, the water is perfect. (playatours.com) Is a good source of information on the tours.

Keep your trip, it is absolutely gorgeous down there.

Plus even if it rains a bit, it is nice and warm!
