Cancun...Senior Trip?

Some students at my school came up with the idea of going to Cancun. They say that they've found a package that is a total cost of $931. It includes the round trip plane ticket (coach), and a 5 night stay at a resort, which includes all of your meals, drinks, and spa treatment. All of that seems like It'd be a little pricier than $931. That's all they've told us about it, and they said that they have to have a $100 down payment by next Wednesday. I'm worried that It'll all turn out to be a cheap resort and run-down. What's your advice on this? Do you think I should go or not? We're set to leave in late May, so...give me some advice, please! Wish you could find a USA place to visit lots of crime on americans in mexico makes it very unsafe!

Cancun is a great place for Senior trip. I would not worry to much about the quality of the hotel you probably will not see your room much. There is way to much to do. 931 sounds like a decent four star hotel. find out the hotel name and look it up at a local travel agent office or on line.

You normally get what you pay for. There are a lot of places in Cancun I wouldn't stay at but you just don't know until you get there.

See if you can get the name of the tour operator and get on the Internet for references. Good or bad they will be there. If you don't find anything on the net they don't exist.
