Question:

Cancun hotels...?

I am feeling very overwhelmed looking at multiple sites for hotels and reviews!

Any suggestions for a great hotel close to everything?

We are looking to get away from life for a week. Need some luxury. On a beach. Either all-inclusive or a condo w/ a kitchen. Would like to be on a beach. Some sort of night entertainment a must. Money is tight, but would much rather pay for something nice and completely worth it. Would definitely like to do extra activities while there as well.

Any suggestions would be great. If we go, I am thinking of the end of July.

Thanks so much for any help at all! i've been searching for a couple hours and am just feeling frustrated!

  1. I have to recommend Royal Solaris. I spent my first vacation in Cancun and I had the best experience ever. They have a great entertainment staff (funny and personal), great dining (french, italian, mexican, and day to day american food). There, people seem knowledgeable and can usually answer questions about the area. It's located in the hotel zone where there is plenty of action going on only 5 minutes away.

There is a boat ride that take you scuba diving, a mall that has different american restaurants like Rock Cafe. You can rent jetskis, sailing (with classes), etc. Nightlife is great but a little wild sometimes, so it would not be great if you are a conservative. Over all, Royal Solaris is my favorite and will continue going back. Best of Luck.

  2. Me by Melia, is a great choice. Trendy and luxury.

Le Meridien. Little but beautiful and luxury.

Those are great hotels on the beach & close to everything.

    Good luck

  3. Check out this site called http://www.cheaphotel-s.com Its search covers 30 over sites with 700,000 hotels.

All the best. Have a nice trip

  4. You said you are looking to get away from life for a week.  I recommend looking into the palace resorts, specifically the Moon Palace.  The place is huge and you can take walks til forever and not pass the same place twice.  They have all sorts of entertainment going on all day and the food is great.  Rooms and grounds are very clean and well kept.  It's a bit off the beaten path as far as downtown is concerned but, if that's what you are looking for it's great!

  5. GR Solaris or Royal Solaris are excellent Hotels with a nice beach and pool area, although they are a little bit out of the way being at KM 19, and the party zone being at KM 9.5

Two other resorts that are favourites with my clients are Oasis Viva Beach at KM 8.5 & Oasis Palm Beach at KM 4.5

All in all, these are very good Hotels and with good rates.

If you need something a bit more classy, Cancun Palace at KM 14.... Great Hotel and you definately get what you pay for.

All of the Above are All Inclusive.

If you fancy a bit of luxury and the chance to get out and about to try the local restaurants etc the ME by Melia or Gran Melia are both Superb.

    Hope this helps

  6. Riu Caribe baby! i've stayed there three times and love it!

its not RIGHT beside the clubs..but a 1/2 hr walk will get you there...Or a quick hop on the bus...

  7. One of the websites that helped me choose the hotel I stayed in, was www.tripadvisor.com.  I found it to be very helpful.  It's free to sign up and post on the forum.

The hotel  we ended up staying at was Riu Palace Las Americas.  It was one of most beautiful hotels in Cancun.  It's part of the Riu chain, and one of the perks of staying at this particular hotel, is that you get to go in to the other Riu Hotels in Cancun.  The good thing is that the people staying at the other Rius, cant go into Riu Palace Las Americas.  So you get an extra perk just for staying there.

The food, the help and decor were abosolutely amazing.  Not too many young spring breakers; most of the crowd is mid 20's through mid 40's.  It's perfect for couples.

  8. july isn't really a good time...way to warm...we stay at the Krystal...it is a four star hotel...right on the beach...it is within walking distance of restaurants and night spots...shopping etc..you can do all inclusive but we would rather eat at the different restaurants...Senor Frogs....Carlo and Charlies...Hard Rock....Planet Hollywood.....
