We will be there the first week in November and are staying for a week. Where should we go and do? Any thing I should worry about or look out for?

  1. You should go to Cozumel, it's more quiet and for adults/married couples. Cancun is fun, but they have a bunch of wild teenagers partying. I doubt it will be that bad in November, but if you're looking for more of a romantic/authentic place.. go to Cozumel!

You should go on the jungle tour, go to the World's 7th wonder (Chichen Itza) Xcaret to swim/snorkle in the river made by the mayans with the fishes.

Most of all activities are 1hr+ but, your hotel has transportation. I know it sucks, but it could be worth it.

Oh.. and you can go on the submarine that takes you 100ft under the sea. You can buy the package and you go to Cozumel (30mins-1hr away) My experience was fun, we saw a shark when we weren't even in the submarine yet!  I will also recommend for you not to straighten your hair lol, it's VERY HUMID!!

I hope you two have a great and safe honeymoon! :)

  2. not warm enough, and they just got 30 inch of rain this week, not sure what that does to the beaches.  go to the far east.

  3. cancun is not a romatic place, its more like a drunken party on a not so good beach. Its overgrown with tourists and isnt "exotic" at all.  Why not travel someplace romantic for your honeymoon like Costa Rica?

  4. I just got back from Mexico on Wednesday & it was our 8th time staying there.

For shopping I would do La Isla shopping plaza and the local flea market. At the La Isla shopping plaza they have an aquarium where you can swim with the dolphins or go in to a tank and feed the sharks.

If your looking for a nice meal there is a Ruth Chris steak house & an Argentinean Steak House that are both amazing.

Cancun has awesome tours to choose from. I am sure you can look each one up on line but here they are:

    Chichen Itza tour

    Captain Hook Dinner Cruise

    Deep Sea Fishing

Isla Mujeres day or night cruise

    Jungle Tour

    Tulum

    Xcaret

    Xel-Ha

There are a ton of things to choose from though & there will be some one in the lobby of your hotel to go over each one and costs.

If you like going for bars or clubs there is Senor Frogs & Coco Bongo... those are the 2 best. If you do open bar it costs $40. Your best value is to do a Party Hopper tour. This typically costs around $65 a piece and will get you in to Senor Frogs, Coco Bongo, Daddy O's, and Daddy Rock. The costs include entrance to the club and drinks. It does not include tips.

When making purchases there do not buy any liquor or liquid (hot sauce, vanilla) unless it is from the duty free shop in the airport. They will not let you carry it on... they confiscated it from the people in front of us.... and they are VERY rough with the baggage so there is a good chance it will break in your suitcase. You can buy it at a good bargain at the airport and each person is allowed to bring back two bottles.

Hope you have a great trip!!

  5. Do not go to cancun it was just recently hit by a hurricane wait until after hurricane season. this is the thing you should worry about.

  6. I've been to Cancun in May, June, July and November.  November was a really nice month to do things in as it isn't as hot and typically hurricane season is over.

It's a great time for snorkeling, horseback riding, playing tennis and having quiet dinners together........a party town-yes.  You can either join the others or make plans on your own.  I've found Cancun (hotel areas) very safe.  I always keep my guard up especially when I go down there alone with my teenage daughter.  Your honeymoon is what you make of it!  Congratulations and enjoy beautiful Cancun!

  7. The best months for Cancun are Mid-December through late-April. The first week of November may be a little too early, hurricane season is still in effect and alot of places/resorts in the area have "turnaround" going on, which means some services and luxuries may not be available. If you can wait until the first week of December you will have better luck with everything. Just my opinion, I have been to Cancun a few times and its always been around the first of the year, good luck.
