The first and only time we went to Cancun we stayed at the Rio!

It was just beautiful.  I would highly recommend the hotel.  It is in a great beach location with a lot of amenities, beautiful balconies, pools, etc.

Our favorite was the pool bar!

Oh.......now I want to go back!

My favorite is the Presidente intercontinental Hotel.  I have stayed twice @ this hotel and loved it. The rooms are very clean, beds are great and staff is wonderful. The food is the best, they don't have an all-inclusive, but it's worth the pay. I believe it's a five star hotel. They have 2 pools and the beach is very clean and calm waves. The hotel is about 5 minutes from the main action, they are 2 hotels from the riu hotel.

I have also stayed @ the Melia Turquesa, Flamingo, Oasis.  These are also very nice, but i prefer the presidente. It also depends on what you will be doing in cancun.  I have been more than 8 times.  Hopefully i will be going next year and staying @ the presidente.  Have fun

www.oasishotels.com these are 4 & 5 star Resorts, All Inclusive with nice beach & pool areas. All have recently been refurbished or had extensions added. Friendly & helpful staff, good food, swim up bar, plenty of sun loungers and a nice relaxing place to be. My personal favourite is Oasis Palm Beach, followed by Oasis Viva Beach.
