Cancun or Acapulco?

Question

My cousins, our friends and I are planning on going around July but we haven't decided where, we want to know what would be more fun because we are all 18 or 19 years old.

I've been to both, and if you want to party and get plasterd then choose Cancun, but if you want to really know Mexico and its culture, party and get plasterd then go to Acapulco.  In cancun almost everyone speaks english and when you buy something they want your dollars,  Cancun is twice as expensive as Acapulco.

Having been to both I would pick Cancun every time.  Within the tourist zone you can safely drink the water.  There is more to do.  The beaches are clean and safe.  Less violence then in Acapulco.  Also more nearby places to visit.  I would suggest Xel-Ha (pronounced Shell Ha).  Simply put, I did not find watching the cliff divers in Acapulco all that exciting.

Acapulco nowadays is more for Mexico city's crowd that goes there for the weekend, lot of mexican people of all levels, poor and rich,

I' ll rather choose go to Cancun, there is going to be full with americans and the beaches are much more better..

It depends where you are coming from.  If you live on the east coast go to Cancun.  West Coast - Acapulco.  Either way, DO NOT DRINK THE WATER

Much more safer, cleaner, newer, nicer.... too much more better.Period.
