Cancun "mancation" in June. Is there anything we should know before we go?

I am going to Cancun mid-June for a vacation with one other friend. We are in our mid-20's, looking to party, and will be staying at the Riu Caribe near downtown Cancun. Other than the standard "where to go, what to do" travel research, what should I know before I go? Thanks.

  1. Definitly don't drink the water. I have heard horror stories about people getting sick from it (including people's reviews of hotels on expedia).

You shouldn't convert too much of your money into pesos, because most places take American money. Remember this - a little tip money goes a long way. If you go out to the clubs they have bartenders that take care of you all night if you give them a nice tip when you first get there. Also, at your resort give the workers like a few dollars in tips and they will be at your beck and call.

The jungle tour is fun if you want to drive your own speedboat and then go snorkeling.

One more tip...stay away from time-share sellers, they won't leave you alone unless you are stern with them.

Have a great time! I'll be going for my 3rd time in July!

  2. A thing you should know is that during that time it is hurricane season. You should go to Isla Mujeres, there do the dolphin swim.go to the pyramids.Go to Xpu-ha.Go on the Pirate ship.
