Hey there- -I'm heading to Cancun this December!! We're staying at the New Gran Caribe Real Cancun. Of course I've read tons of tips, suggestions, horror/happy stories. But obviously, I'd like to hear more!

Any suggestions? And yes, of course, I'm paranoid about getting sick!

Thanks!

  1. Watch out for these fakes. Pastor International Marketing, S.A. de C.V (PIMSA)

They are website host and designers/copiers, not a Travel Agency. My families vacation was ruined by this bunch and I really don't think I will ever recommend them to anyone, ever. As a matter of fact, I will tell everyone that I know not to Set up a Wedding, Rent a Room, Car, Tour, Airport Transfer or anything from these Fakes ever. They took my familes vacation money and destroyed our vacation in Cancun. We didn't get anything promised and what we got was telephone hang-ups, and lies. If they were in Canada we would run them out of the country. The owner was trying to get fresh with my wife on the phone when she made the reservations

  2. Most people get sick because they over indulge in the drinking and food area.

Be prepared and bring your pepto and Imodium. Be careful with the pina coladas. Any thing with milk and coconut will give you a run for your money (if you know what I mean)

Drink only bottled water. The food and water is different in Mexico than your country so take it easy so you can get use to what you are consuming. Drink and eat sensibly. If your tummy starts to feel a little funny, take a pepto tablet.

    You'll be fine. Enjoy)

  3. Cancun is so much fun! I went about a year and a half ago and it was great. We went to the Coco Bongo Club downtown and were there all night, it's such an awesome experience at that particular club. We swam with the dolphins at the local 'wet n wild' water park and I think that's the best place you can do it. We also took a whole day to go ATV and horseback riding on the beach. (Our hotel offered the package)

About getting sick; we didn't get sick at all. We ended up going to a Wal Mart and stocking up on bottled water and food (we were there for a week) and it saved us alot of money. When we got mixed drinks we got them at the hotel. If we were out and about we got bottled drinks to be on the safe side!

It's a great place to lay around, eat, drink, and relax! Have a great time!
