Cancun to campeche by bus?

I want to travel from cancun to campeche by bus. nothing fancy, "chicken bus" (old school busses) if possible, that said, how much is it in USD (roughly), and roughly, how long does it take. I am leaving on Xmas, I would assume it will be more expensive and possibly more crowded. Also, can I get into guatemala without going thru belize? thank you

I'm afraid that the Mexican chicken bus is a casualty of prosperity. They no longer exist.

There are land border crossings from Mexico to Guatemala at La Messilla and Tecun Uman, among others.

Going from Cancun to Campeche should be relatively easy. The trip should take between 5:45 and 7:05 depending on the class of bus you choose and will cost between 308 and 408 pesos. The provided link will assist you in determining fares and times of departure and arrival. If you are going to see the historical district, it is a short taxi ride from the ADO station.

Oh wow... I did that years ago and it seems like it took nearly 2 days because the bus wouldn't run at night.  It sure was cheap, though.

There are not "chicken buses in México".

The service is first class, better than in USA.
