Question:

Candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize?

Some guy right after his signature adds "Candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize" (not stating year).

Is there a way to confirm he was actually nominated for that?

On http://nobelprize.org/nomination/peace/process.html I can read this:

"Are the nominations made public?

The statutes of the Nobel Foundation restrict disclosure of information about the nominations, whether publicly or privately, for *50 years*. The restriction concerns the nominees and nominators, as well as investigations and opinions related to the award of a prize."

So, what's the deal here? Can someone claim that and we can't even check it?

  1. Is there a category for torture and murder?  We could put Li'l Bush up for the Nobel Prize.

  2. According to this link, the Nobel Peace Prize Committee does not release the names of candidates. I think that the only real way to check up is via the body nominating an individual and this is presumably not possible with the information given. http://abcnews.go.com/International/TenW...
