Question:

Candidates net worth?

How do any of the presidential candidates claim to be the man of the common man? The median yearly income for Americans is $46,000.

McCain's net worth is estimated between 20-30 million. Plus, his wife has money of her own.

Clinton is estimated around 40 million and her husband has racked up over $40 million in speaking fees since leaving office.

Obama reported earnings of $984,000 in 2006. Yet, that doesn't take into account $1.9 million in adavances for his book, plus royalities. Oh, and did I mention that his home in Chicago is valued at over $1.6 million.

Mitt Romney is worth ungodly amounts of money.

Edwards and Guiliani are filthy rich as well. Reporting well over $30 million each.

The only person who is truly not wealthy is Joe Biden. His net worth is typically valued at 150,000-300,000. He has worked in public service his whole life. Maybe obama chose him as the VP to put obama more in touch with the working man.

I don't see how Obama is making such a fuss over McCain having 7 homes and having such a privileged lifestyle while obama sleeps comfortably in a 1.6 million dollar home.

McCain's net worth as listed on Open Secrets includes his wife's money.  If you noticed, both Feinstein and Pelosi are worth more than McCain.

Since Cindy McCain has her own money and buys/sells houses I think Obama's adds denouncing McCain for not knowing how many homes his wife has purchased or sold and currently owns is sexist and disgusting.

Truthfully, I wouldn't want an average person running the US.  I think we need an exceptional person.
