  2. I've been to Simply Heathcotes, and whilst it was rather expensive and the menu may well have been written in Swahili (i didn't know what anything was), the food was simply amazing.  The ambiance was great and I'd truly recommend it to anyone (especially if you can decipher the menu)

    Enjoy wherever you end up!!

  3. The Blue Bar & Grill

    Address :

    Grade 1 listed Edward Pavilion

    Albert Dock

    Liverpool

    L3 4AB

Possibly the coolest place to drink and dine in Liverpool. A mixture of brickwork and glass, the bar downstairs has an eighteen metre concrete bar and a glass front that gives you great views out across the dock (from the very hard-to-get-out-of comfortable sofas.) - more so if you’ve been at the Absinthe! Upstairs the splendid restaurant and grill has a very worldly-wise menu from Head Chef Glen Woolacott – it’s rare to find a restaurant that accommodates something you fancy that’s not on the menu. Cool location, a good selection of equally attractive fellow imbibers and chatty staff should easily keep this bar at the head of the list for some time.

    The Living Room

    Address:

    15 Victoria Street

    Liverpool

    L2 5QS

Hugely popular Liverpool hangout and still one of the city's best informal venues. Not particularly living room-like in style, if we're honest, it nevertheless look impressive – expanses of dark wood, big windows, plants and candlelit round tables. At lunchtimes it's an airy refuge for Victoria Street's younger, smarter set; at night it's full of lively clubbers, cocktail drinkers, and the occasional soap star. The atmosphere's always great. Especially when live sets are performed on the white baby grand piano every night from 8.30. An eclectic range of food is prepared, presented and served with a level of care that brings people back again and again. Bestsellers include fillet steaks, crispy duck pancakes and fuss-free steak, ale and mushroom pie. With chips.

    60 Hope St

    Address :

    60 Hope Street

    Liverpool

    L1 9BZ

A listed Georgian front hides contemporary contents at this popular, centrally located address, where both cooking & decor are ambitious & modern. Start with drinks in the basement bistro-bar (worth noting for snacks of posh sandwiches & salads as well as more substantial offerings) before heading back up to the cool dining room & tucking into the likes of Golden Cross cheese with beetroot salad, & roast rump of Kendal Rough Fell lamb with truffle macaroni, creamed cabbage & marjoram jus. Bread & butter pudding with vanilla ice cream is the sort of dessert to expect, although the cheeseboard (with fruit cake) is an enticing alternative. Good value lunch & pre-theatre sets come in at £13.95 for two, £16.95 for three courses.

    Ziba

    Address :

    15-19 Berry St.

    Liverpool

    L1 9DF

A Scandinavian feel greets diners in this upscale, modern, and spacious restaurant with gleaming blond woods and hip leather and chrome retro chairs. The food is, in a word, outstanding. Filet of beef with cracked pepper and red wine, rollatini of pork with apple chutney, and desserts like you would expect: lemon tarts, shortbread, and caramel-banana flan. Reservations recommended.

    Becher's Brook

    Address :

    29a Hope St.

    Liverpool

    L1 98Q

It is in this pleasing atmosphere with wooden floors and exposed, whitewashed brick walls that you have full permission to span the globe and taste a little bit of Asia, a hint of the Mediterranean, and, of course, a plateful of classic British cuisine. Start with a terrine sampler – pork with apricot, foie gras, chicken liver parfait, and fish striped with bands of leek. Specialty offers include pastry stuffed with haddock filet and accompanied by mussels, coconut, and lemon grass. Fabulous desserts and a respectable wine selection are also available.

    Simply Heathcoats

    Address :

    Beetham Plaza

    25 The Strand

    Liverpool

    L2 0XL

Ideally located for a quick lunch, when you don’t feel like cooking in the evening or want to enjoy a classic Sunday lunch with friends and family. The accomplished British cooking of Andy Wright and warm welcome from Sarah Mckercher create a friendly, bustling atmosphere.
