Question:

Candled my duck egg, is it alive?

I have two duck eggs in an incubator with 14 days till hatch day. The first egg is doing great I can see the blood vessels and the baby moving and everything - it's the second egg I'm not so sure of. Although I can see the air sack and the rest of the egg is dark I can't make out anything else like I can in the first egg. Is it dead? Should I give it more time? Both eggs were fertile when candled at 7 days.

They actually sell duck eggs (like for schools), anyway it has some good info. Just scroll past them wanting to sell you stuff.

My only experience is with finch eggs!

    Good luck!!

  2. Eggs that are cloudy or dark are most likely dead.  You may want to remove it, but you could still give it a chance.  It may be developing more slowly.
