Candy apple dried on stove top?

my husband made candy apples and didnt clean up the candy substance that splashed over the pot. Its now dried hard on my stove top any ideas to get it clean without damaging my stove?

Put a wet rag on the candy.  It's just a sugar syrup, which will soften with water.  After a few hours of soaking, it ought to wipe right off.
