Cannavaro excited for Juventus clash and all-praise for Mazzarri and Conte: Serie A news
Napoli skipper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paolo-Cannavaro-c29080, is excited for the Serie A clash against Juventus, at the Stadio San Paolo on Sunday, November 6, 2011.
The Turin giants are currently leading the league table with 19 points from nine matches played thus far. On the other hand, Walter Mazzarri’s men have picked up 14 points from their nine games and are placed 5th in
the group.
The fixture has become a subject of huge interest for the fans and the players, as a win in this game is extremely important for either side. Cannavaro admitted that there is immense hope among the fans and the players and the
city is buzzing to get the game going.
While talking to the reporters, Cannavaro said, “There is great expectation amongst the squad and in the city itself. I can’t wait to play them.”
The Italian rejected talks that the game will have a major say in the Scudetto battle and believes that it is premature to say that.
“It’s normal that people are speaking about this game in terms of a Scudetto tie, although it is a little premature to be saying that.”
The 30-year-old went onto praise Walter Mazzarri and Antonio Conte and believes that the two managers are true footballing genius. Conte joined the Old Lady before the 2011/12 season and has helped the club to lead the league table
thus far.
“They are two footballing men. You can see that from their immense desire to win football matches.” added the former Parma star
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 had a decent start to the 2011/12 season but they have lost their way of late and their domestic and European form have both been affected. The Neapolitan have had a slump in their UEFA Champions League form and have slipped
to third in the Group A. On the other hand, they have lost too many easy points against smaller teams in the league and see themselves five points behind Juventus.
The Partenopei side registered a convincing win in the last season’s corresponding fixture and won by a 3-0 score-line. This will be the last week of action before the international break and both teams would like to win it.
