Question:

Canned tuna fish and toddlers??

was eating a tuna fish sandwich and shared some with my 17 month old daughter and she loved it. I then remembered that when I was pregnant, tuna fish was suppose to be limited to 6-12 ounces (depending on type of tuna) per week due to the mercury in it. Does this same thing hold true for toddlers?

I can't foresee her eating any more than a half sandwich, will that amount harm her?

Thanks for any advice.

  1. I found a link about this:

  2. tuna is good for her because her body is practically fully developed. they only say that for pregnancy because it can hurt your baby while she was developing all her parts. But now is great..but just feed her half a sandwich since toddler tummys are as big as your fist.

  3. She will be fine to eat tuna now, just not in huge quantity.

I have 2 kids (2 1/2 yrs, and 14 months), and both have tried tuna, they are fine  :)
