Cannot Connect to Internet via Linkseys Wireless Card?

I have a desktop computer running Windows XP Home, and recently purchased a Linksys WMP54G (WMP54GFR) 802.11g/b Wireless Adapter, with which I hoped to use to connect to my Apple Airport Extreme Wireless network, running from a Linkseys Wireless base station. For some reason, when I attempt to use the Linkseys software that was provided with the wireless card or the base station, my network does not appear on the list of accessible wireless networks.

However, when I tested Sun Microsystem's "Open Solaris" on Live CD, a dialog box opened, asking if I wanted to connect to the Linkseys wireless network. When I clicked "yes," it immediately connected. However, when I took out the Live CD and went back to Windows, I couldn't find it. When I tried to open the Windows program to "View Available Wireless Connections," it wouldn't open.

How can I fix this problem? Is there some place I can download a program to help me access this network?
