Cannot Find Aux On Kenwood KDC W3037A

Hello. I have just purchased a 3.5mm lead for the aux input via my mp3 player. However when i plug both ends in, the Cd player does not show an aux input. Hence nothing plays and nothing is recognised. PLEASE HELP!!!
